Analog Devices is doubling down on its commitment to the robotics startup ecosystem by renewing its role as a major backer of MassRobotics, the Boston-area accelerator that has become a launching pad for autonomous systems companies. The Wilmington, Massachusetts semiconductor firm will leverage its internal innovation unit, Analog Garage, to provide startups with direct access to specialized hardware technologies and engineering guidance.

The partnership addresses a persistent bottleneck in robotics development: the combination of substantial capital requirements and engineering complexity needed to move prototype concepts into commercially viable products. According to The Robot Report, MassRobotics leadership emphasized that having access to Analog Devices' technical expertise could significantly compress development timelines.

"Developing hardware and advanced robotics is notoriously capital- and engineering-intensive," said Joyce Sidopoulos, co-founder and chief of operations at MassRobotics. "Having ADI's technical expertise and mentorship directly accessible to our startup community is a great asset for accelerating the development of commercial-ready physical systems."

Analog Devices, founded in 1965, generates more than $11 billion in annual revenue and specializes in blending analog, digital, and AI technologies to enable autonomous systems. The company's semiconductors power advances across automation, mobility, healthcare, and data centers. Through Analog Garage, the firm bundles technical knowledge, seed capital, and engineering resources to transform research concepts into deployable solutions.

Startups participating in the MassRobotics program will gain access to Analog Devices' catalog of advanced sensors, signal processing technology, and power management solutions. These components address some of the most vexing engineering challenges that robotics founders encounter when moving beyond proof-of-concept stages.

Colm Prendergast, senior director and head of the Emerging Tech Hub at Analog Garage, framed the relationship as a strategic alignment between a mature chip manufacturer and ambitious early-stage teams. He highlighted that Analog Devices sees robotics startups as essential partners in solving difficult technical problems related to autonomous systems.

The partnership extends beyond direct mentorship. Analog Devices plans to participate in several high-profile robotics industry gatherings:

  • The Robotics Startup Bootcamp at RoboBusiness in Santa Clara, California on October 20 and 21
  • The MassRobotics Startup PitchFest at IROS 2026 on September 28, where Analog Devices will serve as a judge

Prendergast will host technical workshops at RoboBusiness focused on how startups and established corporations can collaborate effectively, from initial concept validation through commercialization. Additionally, MassRobotics co-founder Sidopoulos will participate in the Women in Robotics Lunch at RoboBusiness alongside Bhavana Chandrashekhar, senior manager of Applied Science at Amazon Robotics.
